Getting a phone number
Order a number from the FreeVoIP shop. There are three types — pick by what your callers expect and what it costs them to call you.
Number types
- Local DID — a geographic UK number (a local area code). Familiar and trusted for a local presence.
- FreeFone — 0800 / 0808 numbers, free for your callers to ring.
- Non-Geo — 03 numbers (0300/0330/0343/0370…), charged at standard landline rates, not tied to a location.
Ordering
- Open the number type you want and choose the country/area — the price shows as you pick.
- On the order page you confirm the country and number type in the summary.
- Choose existing customer (just your email) or new customer (the full signup form), then pay by card or PayPal.
- Once set up, the number appears in your My VoIP → Numbers tab, where you route it to a line or feature.
A number carries a small monthly fee (charged from your balance); calls are billed separately per minute. See Balance & billing.
