Setting up mail clients

Step-by-step setup for popular mail clients.

Apple Mail (macOS)

  1. Mail → Add Account → Other Mail Account
  2. Enter your full email and password
  3. If auto-detection fails: account type IMAP, incoming mail.tdesk.uk:993, outgoing mail.tdesk.uk:587
  4. Both servers use SSL and password authentication

Apple Mail (iOS)

  1. Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Other
  2. Add Mail Account, enter details
  3. Account type IMAP; same server settings as macOS

Outlook (desktop)

  1. File → Add Account → Manual setup
  2. POP or IMAP → IMAP
  3. Incoming server mail.tdesk.uk SSL/TLS 993
  4. Outgoing mail.tdesk.uk SSL/TLS 465 (or STARTTLS 587)
  5. Tick "My outgoing server requires authentication" — same as incoming

Thunderbird

Thunderbird usually auto-detects the right settings from your email address. If not, manually configure with the same details as above.

Mobile (Android)

We recommend K-9 Mail (open source, IMAP-native). Built-in Gmail app also works fine for IMAP accounts.
