DNS overview
TDesk runs authoritative DNS for your domains on three nameservers. This page explains how to point a domain at TDesk and where to manage its records.
Pointing a domain at TDesk
- At your registrar, set the domain's nameservers to TDesk's three nameservers (shown on the domain's page).
- Wait for the change to propagate (usually minutes to a few hours).
- Once live, TDesk answers DNS for the domain and you manage records in-panel.
For .uk domains registered through TDesk, this is set up for you automatically.
Managing records
Open a domain and use its DNS section to add, edit and delete records — see Managing DNS records for each record type and how to add them. To check a zone is healthy, use DNS health checks.
Secondary (slave) DNS
If your primary DNS is elsewhere and you just want TDesk as backup nameservers, use Secondary DNS instead.
