Shop SEO

Shop SEO optimises your storefront for search engines — per-page titles and meta descriptions, a robots.txt, an auto-generated sitemap, and structured data — all from the one page under Ecommerce → Shop SEO.

Auto-SEO scan

Click Scan all products & pages and TDesk reads every product, every CMS page and your home page, then proposes a title and meta description for each — built from that item's own content (product descriptions, page bodies, your hero text for the home page). You get a review table: edit anything, untick to skip, then Apply selected. Nothing is written until you apply.

Site-wide defaults

  • Product title template — e.g. {product} — Your Shop; {product} is replaced with each product's name.
  • Home page meta description — the description for your storefront home page.
  • Social preview image (OG image) — shown when your store is shared on social media.

robots.txt & sitemap

  • robots.txt — editable; served live at your shop domain's /robots.txt, pointing crawlers at your sitemap.
  • sitemap.xml — generated automatically from your home page, products and published pages; served at /sitemap.xml. Submit that URL to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Under the hood

Every storefront page also emits Open Graph and Twitter card tags plus JSON-LD structured data — an Organization block on the home page, and full Product schema (price, currency, availability) on product pages, which search engines use for rich results. This is separate from Hosting SEO, which covers your hosted (non-shop) sites.
